SMEs: opportunities and challenges of family-friendly employment practices

In this roundtable event tailored specifically for SME professionals with HR responsibilities, we discuss the findings from a recent research collaboration between Working Families and the University of Manchester which focused on UK-based SMEs and family-friendly work practices. SMEs have a lot to offer with a number of good practices emerging post-Covid, however, there remain clear challenges. The SMEs we spoke to tended to adopt either a proactive or reactive approach towards family-friendly working which had particular implications for recruitment and retention, flexible working and support for carers.

At this free event we will share findings and discuss implications, providing you with the opportunity to share your views and unique experiences with like-minded others. The discussion will also inform the development of Working Families’ more tailored support for SMEs in the area of family-friendly working, so we are really keen to hear what you have to say!
