Roundtable: Exploring the upcoming Employment Rights Bill
29th September 2025 | 12pm to 1pm

The Employment Rights Bill (ERB) represents the most significant overhaul of UK employment law in recent decades, with implications for every employer.
While the implementation of the ERB may present some challenges for employers the reforms provide an opportunity to modernise workplace culture and practices and build a more engaged workforce.
Working Families CEO Jane van Zyl said: “Establishing workplace rights from day one and making flexible working the default could be the key to unlocking labour market mobility, with the promise of getting the economy moving and ensuring parents and carers are not held back in their careers.”
By taking proactive steps now, employers can ensure they are ready for the changes ahead and position themselves for long-term success.
Working Families’ policy team has worked tirelessly to keep abreast of the contents and expected changes the Employment Rights Bill will bring and have contributed towards what the final bill will cover. During this roundtable we will discuss four of the topics included in the ERB:
- ‘Day 1’ Paternity Leave and Unpaid Parental Leave
- Gender pay gap and menopause action plan
- Flexible working
- Bereavement leave
We are delighted to be joined by a representative from the Department of Business and Trade and Simon Kelleher, Head of Policy and Influencing here at Working Families, who will provide an update about this new piece of legislation.
As usual, there will be plenty of opportunity for members to join the discussion and ask questions.
This event is for Working Families employer members only.
Spaces are limited to two per member organisation.
