How we helped a mother returning to work after maternity leave
Yvonne’s* major retailer employer said she couldn’t return to work from maternity leave on her old hours. She got in touch with our helpline and we advised her of maternity law and supported her to negotiate with her employer who finally agreed that Yvonne could return on her old hours. They also issued guidance to all their staff explaining the right to return in full, so that other women won’t lose out in the future.
Yvonne is just one of almost 3,000 parents who contact our legal advice line each year seeking advice on issues such as maternity/paternity discrimination and flexible working. If you need advice, you can reach our free advice line on: 0300 012 0312
A donation of £65 could help us provide free legal advice to a parent or carer who has been discriminated against due to having childcare responsibilities.
