Working Families is delighted that our proposed set of flexible working reforms, that were taken up and championed by Yasmin Qureshi MP, now form part of the ground-breaking new Employment Relations (Flexible Working) Bill!

Our policy team have worked tirelessly to develop this long-awaited legislation, which comes into force in April. It will remove barriers for millions of employees and unlock flexible working opportunities from day one in a new job.

Whilst over 8 in 10 of our Top Employers 2023 Benchmark already offer flexible working as a day one right and almost half utilise our ‘Happy to Talk Flexible Working’ strapline when advertising roles, this best practice has not been the default way of working for many employers across the UK. We hope that this new law will be a game-changer.
