The Secret Life of Us

A message from Amanda Batten, Chair of the Disabled Children’s Partnership
Today we launch the Secret Life of Us campaign and we need your support.
We are a proud member of the Disabled Children’s Partnership – a growing coalition of more than 40 charities that formed earlier this year to campaign for improved health and social care for disabled children, young people and their families.
Today marks an important milestone as we launch the Secret Life of Us campaign. Bringing to life the realities of the challenges disabled children, young people and their families face on a daily basis, in living a life many of us take for granted.
This is because 43% of the British public don’t know anyone who is disabled and therefore are simply unaware of the challenges they face.
The truth is, we need public support, understanding and empathy to affect change and make a lasting difference to the way disabled children, young people and their families are treated in society. In order to achieve the change we need, we will bring the realities of their lives closer to people across England.
Help us fight to make this change.
Today we are launching our campaign and want to reach as many people as possible to improve understanding and awareness across the country.
We want to open the eyes of the public and improve understanding of the issues faced by families on a day-to-day basis. We want to remove the barriers to people being able to relate to the lives of disabled children, creating greater understanding, affinity and empathy for them and their families.
If we do this we will have the support to make a real difference to the lives of disabled children, young people and their families across England.
If you haven’t already, please sign up to support our campaign!
Thank you for your support
