Success for British 10k Team
Published: 14 Jul 2015
Luckily the heat subsided for the final Challenge Event of the year as the five members of our British 10k team lined up amongst thousands of runners on Sunday morning. The race took them on a gruelling sightseeing tour of central London starting at Piccadilly and passing The Ritz, St James’s Palace, Trafalgar Square, St Paul’s Cathedral, The London Eye and Westminster Abbey before ending at Whitehall.
Despite the surroundings, our team only had eyes for the finish line where they were greeted by Sarah Jackson (CEO), Helen Goodier (Head of Philanthropy), Jo Rogers (Head of Operations) and a picnic. Perhaps the sight of the carrot sticks and hummus spurred the team on as all of the runners managed to finish in excellent times and have raised a significant amount of money for the Working Families Legal Advice Line.
We would like to thank the team of Julie McCarthy, Catherine Rogan, Lucy Alexander, Kirsty Alexander and Duncan Mirams for taking the time to run and fundraise on behalf of Working Families – the money raised will make a huge difference to the thousands of employees who phone the advice line each year.
The British 10k is one of three organised Challenge Events that Working Families participate in and the exceptional efforts of fundraisers throughout the year have surpassed our expectations. If you would like to help us beat our fundraising target next year by taking part in one of the events or organising any other kind of fundraiser, please contact our fundraising team for advice and information:
