Leading Flex from the Front – National Work Life Week webinar
10th October 2024 | 11am to 12pm
Leading Flex from the Front – engaging and empowering your senior management team to foster flexible, family-friendly workplaces.
Our 2024 Top Employers Benchmark found that 69% of employers felt an employee’s options for working flexibly depended on a line manager’s understanding and approach. If leaders aren’t equipped with the right tools, then finding the right flexible solutions so that everyone can reap the benefits of a culture of flexibility will be a challenge. A study by People Management magazine revealed that half of managers have had no formal management or leadership training around flexible working, highlighting the need for organisations to upskill their senior teams and build understanding around the business case for flex.
This webinar will explore the pivotal role leaders play in developing flexible workplaces, why it is so important and how they can embed flex into their working practices. With the long-awaited new Flexible Working Act now in action, and a post-Covid workforce embracing a new way of working, progressive employers have senior teams that flex from the front, showcasing positivity and empathy around family-friendly working and role modelling behaviours that support it.
Chaired by our CEO, Jane van Zyl, this webinar will be moderated by our brilliant new Ambassador, Becca Maberly, the founder of A Mother Place. We are delighted to be joined by Mike Bambrook, Head of Performance and Program Management, Public Policy and Corporate Responsibility at Barclays and Sam Skerry, SVP Mergers & Acquisitions and Business Development at bp, who will be sharing useful takeaways and strategies on how to engage and support leaders to elevate and embed family-friendly working within your organisation.
And we welcome Susanne Jacobs, our organisational behaviour and performance expert, who will be sharing how we can inspire and develop a new generation of flexible leaders, unpicking the science behind building high performing flexible teams.
