Flex for Fathers – National Work Life Week webinar
12th October 2022 | 11am to 12pm

How to overcome the ‘fatherhood forfeit’ and empower fathers in your organisation
About this event
Working Families strives to help employers create gender equality, creating cultures that enable and empower fathers to step up as active caregivers in their children’s lives.
As part of our National Work Life Week webinar series, in collaboration with our partner SF Recruitment, we have invited Dr Jasmine Kelland, Lecturer in Human Resource Management at the University of Plymouth, to share her in-depth research into the challenges that working fathers can face. She will be exploring the learning points from her book ‘Caregiving Fathers in the Workplace – Organisational Experiences and the Fatherhood Forfeit’.
We are also delighted to have best-selling author and ‘dad guru’, Elliott Rae, moderating this session. Elliott created the BBC documentary, ‘Becoming Dad’, the first to bring issues around dads’ mental health, equal parenting, work-life balance and masculinity to the mainstream.
They will be joined by Lt Col Tony Frank from the British Army, commended in our 2022 Best Practice Awards, Best for Fathers, and Martin Papadatos from American Express. These employers will be offering practical advice and strategies on how organisations can engage fathers in positive and effective ways, and the business case for doing so.
