Creating flexible roles

Prior to starting the recruitment process, the flexibility of roles is assessed and where necessary, redesigned by line managers who are specifically supported to do so. Any roles that are not flexible must have their reasons stated by line managers.

SF Recruitment comprehensive package of flexibility is proactively promoted through job adverts and across social media platforms as part of their employee value proposition. The use of videos, blogs and press releases are used to showcase the success stories of employees who use flexibility to manage personal commitments at the same time as thriving in their roles.

Best candidate for the job

The pledge to operate a hybrid working model long-term offers prospective candidates the autonomy to work in the best way for them that will support them to build a fulfilling career. It also makes SF Recruitment a desirable employer for people who need to balance work and caring responsibilities.

Measures have been taken to normalise flexibility through the recruitment process. Job adverts make their commitment to being open to talk flexible working clear, as well as details about potential flexibility, and interview panels are briefed to initiate conversations about flexible working. The management team model alternative working arrangements that can be used to reassure potential candidates of the feasibility of flexible working at the company.

Evidencing success

SF Recruitment’s centring of the employee experience has not only increased the headcount by 60% in the past 12 months, but importantly they are able to retain talent, with attrition levels currently at just 2.5% and 48% of individuals have been promoted into senior roles based on performance.
