CDC Group – Finalist 2020, Best for Mothers

Three quarters (75%) of mothers still work with the CDC Group a year after returning from maternity leave.  

The organisation offers maternity leave and Shared Parental Leave including 26 weeks on full pay and 13 weeks on Statutory Maternity Pay. Benefits for mothers include flexible working, extra paid leave for IVF, first aid training for babies and children and six 90-minute coaching sessions to use before, during or after maternity leave.  

CDC Group is the UK’s first impact investor with over 70 years of experience of successfully supporting the sustainable, long-term growth of businesses in South Asia and Africa.   

As part of CDC’s mandate, the company invests in healthcare providers in developing markets to increase access to care for women and children. In 2018 alone CDC investee Rainbow hospitals treated over 620,000 mothers and children in India.
