Parents and carers: help us #flextheUK.
Take our survey to let us know how you've balanced work and care during COVID-19, and your hopes for what work will look like in a post-COVID future. Your responses will be used to support our work with the government and employers to make flexible working the norm.
#flextheUK – 19 June 2020
COVID-19 has shown us the potential of widespread flexible working in the UK. The way in which the business world has adapted to the crisis—whether it’s been a shift to remote working or encouraging flexible hours—proves that flexibility is possible in many more roles than employers had ever considered before. For parents who will continue to face challenges balancing their work and caring responsibilities after the pandemic is over, and for businesses that want to stay ahead of the curve after COVID-19, one thing is clear: there’s no going back to business as usual.
Taking place on 19 June 2020, #flextheUK is a chance to join together in a call to make flexible working the rule, not the exception. We want to encourage employers and the government to harness the increases in productivity, talent attraction, and diversity that flexible working will bring to the UK economy long after COVID-19 has run its course. Let’s get rid of outmoded 9-5 workplace cultures once and for all.
On 19 June, use the hashtag #flextheUK and let us know why you think flexible working should be the norm. Make sure to tag @workingfamUK on Twitter for a chance to be retweeted.
