Sample letter about Health and Safety for a pregnant woman

Dear Ms Powell,

I am writing to confirm that I am pregnant.  As you may know, employers have a duty to do a risk assessment for a pregnant woman if there is evidence of any risk to the woman or her unborn child.

I think that particular risks to me in my job are lifting heavy boxes and spending long periods standing up without a break.

Please let me know when you will be able to do the risk assessment.  You can get lots of information about how to do a risk assessment and what to do if there are risks at www.hse.gov.uk.

Yours sincerely,

Nicola Jones
