Flexible working: Time for a reflection?
23rd May 2017 | 09.00 to 14.30 | New Academic Building London School of Economics and Political Science 54 Lincoln's Inn Fields, London London WC2A 3LJ

This workshop is the final dissemination conference of the ESRC funded Work Autonomy & Flexibility project, where the access to and outcomes of flexible working have been examined using UK and European data. There will be a launch of the final report from the project, alongside three round table discussions focusing on some of the key areas surrounding flexible working and its outcomes. Sarah Jackson, Chief Executive and Jonathan Swan, Head of Research of Working Families are taking part in the round tables.
Flexible working is increasingly becoming the new norm in terms of how we manage our work and private lives. But we also see a stall in its take up, with working culture and flexibility stigma mentioned as some of the key causes. Further, what are some of the other consequences of flexible working, for example on work intensity, wages, gender equality?
The event is free and open to policy makers, policy stake holders, NGOs, media, employers, workers, academics and the general public who are interest in flexible working, its outcomes and policy changes that are needed to enable a better use.
