Families and Work Group
Working Families is proud to chair the Families and Work Group, an informal coalition of charities, unions, think tanks and campaigners working to secure policy change that breaks down barriers for parents and carers in the workplace.
The group has a strong track record of impact, including: influencing major Private Members’ Bills that became the Employment Relations (Flexible Working) and Neonatal Care (Leave and Pay) Acts of 2023 and coordinating joint letters that led to significant government action – such as the Equality Act 2010 (Amendment) Regulations 2023, which came into effect January 2024 to safeguard EU-derived employment rights post-Brexit; and the launch of the Parental Leave Review that adopted all seven of our recommendations.
Alongside shaping policy through ministerial engagement, research, and campaigns, the group is now focusing on the implementation of the Government’s Make Work Pay agenda.

We are writing to you on behalf of the Families and Work Group to ask you to commit to making the next Government deliver for the UK’s 13 million working parents and three million unpaid working carers, should you be elected on July 4th.
